Eating My Shorts – Google Super Bowl Ad ‘Parisian Love’
- 3 Comment
OK, I’m Officially eating my shorts. Google does run a Super Bowl ad, and it is indeed a generic search focused message. I was oh so wrong.
I like it – not sure why ‘Parisian Love’ was chosen as the theme, but hey maybe they’re trying to appeal to a global audience.
Thoughts?

I like it ! Appealing to a global audience ? Definitely yes. Trying to remind us that we rely on Google to find info than we care to admit? Another yes. As usual, showing a person’s journey is a powerful way to convey a message. We all want stories. I like the soundtrack in the background, the airport noise, baby crying etc. Very clever. But I would expect nothing less than clever from Google though!

Let me ask you this: do you have any emotional response to your search engine? Probably not. But Google subtly demonstrated how SEARCH applies to LIFE. They made a human connection to a technological tool. And thru nothing more than search queries, told a love story. Absolutely brilliant.
